The Trump administration’s forced family separation policy was a failed attempt to prevent illegal immigration. Thousands of children were deliberately separated from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border, with no plan in place to reunite families in the future. The Atlantic’s Caitlin Dickerson discovered the true horror of what actually happened. She discusses her report.
